Inter Faith Networking Events

In response to the State of Sector research carried out in partnership with Volunteer Centre Sutton in 2025, we held an Inter Faith Networking event.  Sutton charity, community and faith organisations fed back that they would like to know more about other groups in the borough and they work they are doing around supporting communities including looking at any the possibility of working together.

The Inter Faith Showcase was held in April 2026.  The Showcase was an opportunity for Sutton-based Faith groups to come together and present the work they do to support their communities with the cost of living.

The following groups presented at the Showcase:

  1. Jeff Richards from Suttonfx shared information about the Chatty Café and their Community Garden
  2. Olwen Edwads from Holy Trinity Sutton spoke about the Solo Lunches and International Coffee Mornings
  3. Rona Forzani and Gwen Blackburn spoke about Christian’s Against Poverty’s Job Club and Key Skills Group and the support offered from Creating Hope.
  4. Hibba Malik from the Ahmadiyya Women Muslims Groups shared their work to support other local charities and local families in need.
  5. Mark Tomlinson and Vikki Clarke from Sutton Community Works talked about the Sutton Foodbank, the Sutton Food Shop and Sutton Street Pastors, and shared the huge impact of these services over many years.
  6. Helen Drewery and Eva Kalmus from Sutton Quakers shared their work to create a monthly lunch club.

There was also time for everyone to connect and share their stories over refreshments.
