Refugee & Migrant Network Sutton (RMNS) is seeking an experienced, creative, patient, and compassionate teacher of English as a foreign language to teach a small group of adult learners from refugee backgrounds who are not literate in their mother tongue and may have had little or no formal education.

Role Details

  • Gender: Female (in line with the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, part 1 Genuine Occupational Requirement)

  • Start date: Mid‑September 2026

  • Duration: Academic year 2026/2027 (three terms), approximately 34 teaching weeks

  • Class size: 10–15 learners

  • Class schedule:

  • 2 hours per session

  • 2 sessions per week

  • Venue: Trinity Church Sutton, SM1 1DZ


Remuneration

  • £30 per hour

  • Includes 1 paid hour of preparation and room set‑up per class

  • Weekly pay: £180 (2 × 2 hours teaching + 2 × 1 hour preparation)
