DCF is a grassroots, family-run charity founded by Leroy Duffus. Leroy established DCF while living with terminal cancer, driven by a passion to create meaningful support for young people’s wellbeing and resilience.
DCF exists to make a positive difference to the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of children, young people, and the wider community. We focus on building confidence, self-esteem, and coping skills for those facing life challenges that may impact their wellbeing.
We deliver our services in Croydon with a dedicated community space called Unity Junction in Sutton. From this location, we run regular activities and provide a safe, welcoming environment for young people and local residents.
We are open five days a week, offering consistent and accessible support.
Our core work includes:
- Youth groups and school-based programmes supporting children and young people aged 8–19 and up to 25 with SEND
- After-school drop-in sessions at Unity Junction, providing advice, guidance, and a safe space to relax and connect
- 1-to-1 and group wellbeing support to help build resilience and confidence
- Community activities, including wellbeing coffee mornings, craft sessions, and social events such as bingo and quizzes
- Partnership work with local organisations
