About Us 
 
We are looking for a part-time Payroll Assistant to join our busy payroll team. The role offers variety and the opportunity to work with an incredibly broad range of clients. You will provide accurate payroll services to a diverse range of clients as directed by the Payroll Officer, and in accordance with firm procedures, as well as: 

  • Processing clients’ payroll – weekly / fortnightly / monthly / quarterly / annual. 

  • Processing various types of manual payroll calculations. 

  • Dealing with starter checklists, P45 and other relevant HMRC forms. 

  • Carrying out auto enrolment admin for clients through the payroll software. 

  • To assist with the payroll reconciliations and analysis as required. 

 

About you 
 
We are looking for people who embrace the 3 C’s – Change, Challenge and Commitment. Having gained experience in a similar role, you will be confident in working to a high standard, have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to your work. You will also have/be: 

  • Working knowledge of Iris Payroll Professional (Essential) 

  • Strong payroll knowledge on maternity, paternity and sickness procedures, student loan deductions, P45/P46 procedures, payroll year end. 

  • Understanding of ongoing legislative changes which affect payroll. 

  • Bureau payroll experience (Desirable)

We are currently recruiting an experienced Payroll Assistant, detail oriented, adept at noticing errors, able to multi task and prioritize as well as being highly trustworthy dealing with sensitive and confidential information. 
 
Duties include but not limited to: 
 
• Accurately calculating the right amounts of pay, deductions, overtime, bonuses 
• Processing data related to the weekly and monthly payments 
• Managing RTI and the Auto-enrolment scheme for the company 
• Deducting the right amount of pension contributions, income tax and national insurance. 
• General Office duties such as answering the telephone, fielding enquiries. 
• Calculating and processing SMP, SSP, P45’s P60’s 
• Recording payroll data onto IRIS payroll software 
• Changing employee details 
• Managing year end processes and associated returns. 
• Resolving issues employees may have with payroll matters 
 
Experience Required 
 
· Minimum of two years payroll experience. 
· Knowledge of Iris Payroll Professional (Essential) 
· Intermediate level in Microsoft Excel 
· Excellent communication skills 
· Effective time management- able to work to deadlines and targets 
· Honours confidentiality of employee pay records 
· Excellent attention to detail 
· Working collaboratively with external clients
