Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

 

Bringing people together with food! 


To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, we worked in partnership with Sutton Mental Health Foundation (SMHF). Our Head of Partnerships, Equalities and Impact, Razia Sattar kindly cooked for the service users that attend the drop in centre of SMHF. One in four of us will experience a mental health problem, but many still feel isolated, ashamed and unable to open up on their lived experience.  As part of SMHF work they provide a regular lunch for their service users and on Friday 18th May Razia cooked the following dishes Chicken Curry, Vegetable Curry, Daal, Pakoras, Chapatis and Channa Pilau for over 30 services and staff.  

We wanted to say thank you to the SMHF staff for helping Razia and welcoming her into the kitchen. We were super pleased to hear that everyone enjoyed the food and getting together.
